Why save a search?
By saving a search and its results, you will save search time, but more importantly, you may view images that you haven’t previously seen. Unlike saving images in a lightbox where you specifically choose particular images to come back to, recalling a saved search on a later visit may retrieve additional images that fit under the search keyword you have used, that may not have been available the first time you conducted your search. If new images that meet your original search criteria have been uploaded to the website since you initially saved your search, these will be displayed for you to view when you return, giving you a greater selection of images to choose from.
For example, if a search for ‘fruit watercolour’ had resulted in 6 images when you first saved the search and new collection comprising three new watercolour paintings of fruit had been uploaded to the site since, then when you return to your saved search at a later date, the system will retrieve 9 images assigned to the ‘fruit watercolour’ search-string instead of the original 6 you viewed the first time.
How to save a search:
To save a search you must first be a registered user of this website. Once registered and logged in, you will find the ‘Save Search’ option in the ‘Advanced Search’ page.
Simply carry out a search using appropriate keywords and filters. Once your image results are displayed, scroll to the bottom of the page and key in a name for the search you have just conducted in the ‘Save As’ field on the right hand side of the search facility. After you’ve keyed in your saved search title, hit the ‘Save’ button.
Your saved searches will be displayed by title every time you log into your account and you can keep returning to them to view any image additions to the search-string since your last visit. You may delete saved searches when you no longer need them.
